(Updated) Microsoft Teams: Unblock users to send message while file is uploading in the background

What and Why

Users are currently blocked from sending messages in Microsoft Teams while a file upload is in progress, which can disrupt real-time collaboration. With this update, file uploads will occur asynchronously in the background, allowing users to continue sending messages without interruption.

Rollout Schedule

• Targeted Release: Rollout will begin in early August 2026 (previously early July) and is expected to complete by mid-August 2026 (previously mid-July).
• General Availability (Worldwide): Rollout will begin in mid-August 2026 (previously mid-July) and is expected to complete by end of October 2026 (previously mid-September).
